Fionnuala Kearney pronounced FINOOLA CARNEY discovered,
age six, that she had in fact been christened Ann. That's Ann with no 'e'. Her
parents decided, for some reason to address her by her second name. Go figure.
Earning a llving meant working in property. She was for
many years a home search agent (like Phil and Kirstie without the cameras)
before deciding she didn't really need money and opted to take up writing
seriously. That was four years ago and three unpublished novels later, she
realises money was really quite a nice thing and without the support of her
hubster, she would be eating toilet paper.
She tells him, publication and fame are only a matter of
time. She has not mentioned how long and assures him that the only reason she
has not yet been snapped up by a major publisher is that they simply can't fit
her name on the spine. He has suggested adopting a pseudonym such as Ann Kent.
Easy, pronounceable, no unnecessary vowels and should place her right next to
Marion Keyes in Waterstones. She quite likes this idea :)
